I had a hosting plan with Yahoo and decided it was time to move after some customer support problems. I heard about Dotster online and did some research about them. I figured if it didn’t work out I could get my money back since they offer a money back guarantee. I am glad I changed hosts since they are very easy to deal with. My site is much faster now and I am planning on adding a shopping cart in the near future.
I am hearing this for the first time. I have been hosting my blogs for the past 3 years. Have used many of the hosting plans. But i have not heard or used this. Looking at the features provided, i think there are much more better companies providing even better service for the cost . Since i do not know about this hosting, i do not want to rate them.
been using dotster hosting over the last 2 years. i run a few sites their that belong to one of my clients. hands down – it’s mediocre to bad. support is hard to reach (only support tickets, some of which remain unanswered…). phone support just writes tickets – no real support. the control panel was built by some guy that hates humans or sometyhing. does not make any sense, very confusing, very uncomfortable – and i have over7 years of experience running hundreds of sites…

What ever you do DO NOT USE THIS company for your hosting.
We have had a vps with dotster for 18 months. We hosted 80 low traffic domains with little HDD use.
Then suddenly the websites all went down.
After restarting the server endlessly we contacted Dotster who want £75 to look at it.
We were over a barrel so we paid
An email came back two days later saying case is closed, you have too much traffic?
We have reopened the case, but after 8 days of being down our 80 clients are all hosting elsewhere
We can’t even telephone as their phone number does not work from the UK!

Rip off company. dishonest in credit card charges. Excessive charges. Made excuses. Extremely poor service.
My nephew set up a new site with dotster as the host. It’s my first time with dotster, I’ve exclusively used siteground for several years.
I’ve had nothing but one hassle after another, I have to contact Dotster to make simple changes and take simple actions that I can do on my own at Siteground. Things that take a couple of seconds on dotster to change take an hour to work through dotster’s systems. Their support answers questions, but in days rather than minutes or an hour at most from Siteground.
This is a horrible, Mickey Mouse service that should be avoided at all costs.
